This is what it says on their web page... "If you subscribe to the Oprah Winfrey magazine, you probably won't like us. But if you do lots of methamphetamines, you probably will dance like crazy when you hear our music. If you stay up late and eat pizza flavored cornnuts, you may hallucinate to our music. If you shit your pants regularly, you may want to wear depends, but that depends...If you have a third grade humor but an eightyyear old's sense of wisdom, come with us. We shall journey to the land of Huh-uh. Take our hands, all six."

Leather Uppers - Sugar Sandwich
Leather Uppers
Classy Craig Daniels - vox/guitar Groovy Greg Tymoshenko - vox/drums

Starting a new theme here... I'm going to end each show with a non-new track. Not necessarily super old and a dusty tune from the vaults but something I've been listenting to for years. First up is the Classic 90s Canadian garage rock tune, Sugar Sandwich.

Hailing from Toronto, The Leather Uppers were around 1991 - 1994. They released several 7" records and one still-classic garage rawk full-length album, "OK, Don’t Say Hi" (Sugar Sandwich is the first track from the album), during their time. The album was re-released in 2002 on Texas label Pantsuit City which led to three reunion shows in the spring and summer of 2003 (I was at the Toronto one!). Somehow playing the old songs again brought new momentum to the 2-piece's cause and they decide to reform. They have a new record out this year on Goner Records called "Bright Lights" and according to their myspace are planning to tour to Europe in November 2006 (which would be the first time they've played out of North America! Craig Daniels has also been in the Tijuana Bibles and The Exploders, and Greg has the coolest old skool CBC zip up jacket ever (FACT).
