Clues - Perfect Fit
Clues
Alden Penner - vox/guitar Ben Borden - keys/guitar Nic Scribner - bass/guitar Van Calhoun Lisa Gamble Brendan Reed

Alden from The Unicorns' new band ! Woop. I've played Islands (that was Nick Unicorn's next band) before so it seems only right to play Alden's. They just came over to the UK last month. I was lucky enough to win this CD (yup - there you go I'm a massive dork) and see them play at the Lexington. I once took Alden to the swimming ponds in Hamstead Heath AND we drank Buck's Fizz on Primrose Hill. That was many years ago when I lived in NW1. Old skool.

Sprial Beach - Domino
Spiral Beach
Daniel Woodhead / Airick Woodhead / Dorian Wolf / Maddy Wilde

Toronto band. They've been around for ages (since 2003 apparently) and yet I've just heard of them. You can tell I haven't lived in Canada for over 5 years! I'm well out of the loop. They've toured with friend of mine the Hidden Cameras and Sloan and JUST passed through London last week. I missed the gig cos I was playing the same night.

This is from their new EP - The Dying Party - which was released (for FREE) last month on www.rcrdlbl.com. I hope they come tour London soon! Beach House - Norway
Beach House
Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally

From Baltimore, Maryland this is off their newest album - Teen Dream - which will be out on Sub Pop in January. They have loads and loads of European tour dates for next year including Bush Hall in London (ugh that venue is toooo west for me!) but also a couple dates with Grizzley Bear at the Roundhouse in March. Lots of chances to check Beach House out!

Patrick Wolf - Hard Times
Patrick Wolf
Patrick Wolf - vox

I used to have real beef with Patrick. We met years and years ago at a Hidden Cameras house party in London. It's kind a boring story but we basically fell out the first night we met. Then for years after I would see him in the street and we'd glare at each other. All that changed a few years ago when we ended up drunkenly making up at some Shoreditch club night. Since then whenever I bump into Patrick it's all smiles and no more evil eyes. Haven't actually seen him since Bestival 2007 but obviously he's doing well. This song is ace and from his album which came out earlier this year.
