Gene Defcon - She's On MTV

Gene Defcon - vox/music
Gene aka Otto Matik of the Prima Donnas fame aka Raptroll aka Chrisopher Lyons. Does anyone remember the Prima Donnas?
They were a fake British band made up of Texans living in Olympia. They were hilarious. Gene was the singer in that band before
he became Gene Defcon. He has now relocated back to Austin. Gene Defcon started about the same time the Gossip did. I remember
actually seeing the Gossip open for Gene Defcon if you can believe that. When they started Gene was the ultimate party
band, previous members came from bands such as Bikini Kill, Tight Bros From Way Back When, Mocket, The Bangs, and more.

Fun 100 - Computer

Ryan - vox/keytar Steve - Bass Adam - guitar Marc - synths Bruce - drums
Fun 100 are five lovely boys from Abbotsford, British Columbia, the bible belt of the Lower Mainland
(previously mentioned in the You Say Party! We Say Die! blurb, who they also happen to share a drummer with).
The first time I saw Fun 100 was when I booked them to play a gig with Lederhosen Lucil at Ms. T's Cabaret. They were
all underage at that point except Marc and I ended up having to be their "chaperone" for the night making sure they
didn't drink.
Ryan and Bruce are brothers and they both worked at a Grocery store called Funks Foods in Abbotsford.
Funks has it's own stickers which say "Fun 100" used for labeling products. When the band was coming up with a name
they realised going with Fun 100 they would have a HUGE supply of free stickers. They bring rolls of Fun 100 stickers which they
get from Funks to give out at shows. Plus the band is Fun definitely 100 times over.

Lederhosen Lucil - Molasses Trip

Krista Muir - vox/keys manager
Montreal's Lederhosen Lucil aka Krista Muir from Kingston is one funny lady. The first time I heard this song
I was at Kid Koala's house in Montreal and he was choosing songs for a special he was hosting on CBC. He played this
and the instant she mentioned the Pet Shop Boys at the beginning I was hooked (I am a huge closet PSB fan). The funny
thing was Krista actually showed up an hour later at his house and I could tell her how great she was face to face. Since
then we've been friends and I've loved her music. She recently toured all over Europe including Bavaria which I believe is
Lucil's homeland.
This February Lucil is releasing a book! The Joy of Hosen: Lederhosen Lucil Up Close und Pictorial, tracks
Lucil's evolution through photos, fan art, posters, and more. Designed by artist and master poster maker Todd Stewart,
the book features photographer Jocelyn Michel's juicy shots of Lucil sporting each of her unique hosen. It's available
through www.mudscout.com. Apparently if you order early you may even get a signed
copy!

Veronica Lipgloss and the Evil Eyes - Unicorn Song

Rhani Remedes Jasmine Caperton Andrey Netboy Krispy
San Francisco based art punk/no wave co-ed quartet. What can I tell you about this band? They like Mojitos (who doesn't?), they wear
tight green shorts on stage, and they've been in a van accident on tour where the worst thing that happened was the guitarist
smashed her foot through the window (still shitty though). Their press release goes on about comparing them to the movie
Downtown 81, that movie about Basquiat, which I found totally boring even though the music was cool. What I'm
saying is Veronia Lipgloss isn't boring at all, the music is good, and they should change their press release.

Wet Confetti - Laughing, Gasping

Daniel Grazzini - guitar/keys/vox Mike McKinnon - drums/spoons Alberta Poon - vox/bass six/keytar
This song even has a music video! I found this song on the
Tic Rox CD Compilation
which was organised and released by Nic of Channels 3x4 fame. Wet Confetti have promised to break up as a band if they hit 1500 friends
on myspace. Right now they are at about 1050 friends and are wondering how all these people know about them? Welcome to
the world of the internet I say. This is the time when you can be some little shit band from some buttfuck town and some random
in Romania will love your band. I'm not kidding this stuff happens. I think it's amazing! The world is becoming so small
and everyone knows everyone.

The Vanishing - Lovesick

Jessie Eva - vocals/bass/saxaphone Brian Hock - drums
The Vanishing is a duo from San Francisco (who relocated to Berlin mid-2003). They have since Vanished as the Vanishing
and are now working on solo projects. Jessie is Autonervous and Brian is Zonetech. (The following is stolen
from their band bio) The band toured the US 3 times, Europe, and in spring 2004 they won the infamous "lifestyle" award at the SF Weekly
Music Awards. This "lifestyle" is reflected by their surreal and improvisational stage show whose brutal honesty
and sensual grittiness has been hypnotizing crowds everywhere. THEIR INTENTION: TO LEAD THE WORLD INTO A DANCING FRENZY
!!!

Neon Blonde - Black Cactus Killer

Johnny Whitney - vox/guitar/keyboards Mark Gajadhar - drums/drum machine
Alter-ego/side project of Johnny and Mark of the Blood Brothers. It's a bit more eclectic and a bit more dancey than the BBs.
The thing I've always really liked about the Blood Brothers was Johnny's voice
so of course I'm going to like Neon Blonde. His voice is so yelpy and unique I think you either love it or hate it.
The dude also runs a clothing company, check it out www.crystalcityclothing.com. They
make all the Neon Blonde t-shirts.
