Islands - Humans

Nicholas Diamonds - vox/music Jamie Thompson - drums
This isn't The Unicorns! It's the Unicorns minus Alden. I don't exactly know what happened with the break up,
but it seems Alden parted ways from Nick and Jamie. Islands have a full length album coming out later this year,
this is track 2 from that album. The full-length is called Return to the Sea and is coming out on Rough Trade.
Since disbanding, the only other Unicorns-related project was Th' Corn Gangg. I think Alden is/was working on
some solo albums but that is all hearsay.

Pretty & Nice - Busy Bees

Holden - vox/guitar Eric - Bass Tyson - drums Will - vox/guitar
Pretty & Nice = Four dashing gentleman from Burlington, Vermont. This is a demo of an upcoming single of theirs. They've released one EP to date. Everytime I think of this band I just keep thinking back
to reading Catcher in the Rye, it might be that the guy's name is Holden, or it might be that they describe
themselves as gentlemen, but there is something Salinger-esque going on.

Partyline - Unsafe At Any Speed

Allison - vox Angela - guitar Crystal - drums
Formed in Washington, D.C., in 2003, Partyline are singer Allison Wolfe, guitarist Angela Melksethian,
and drummer Crystal Bradley. I saw them play the South London Gallery a couple months ago. Everytime I see Allison Wolfe
I always feel like I know her, even though I don't really. I'm friends with her identical twin sister Cindy. Don't you find
twins weird? I mean not in a freak way, but just in a way that you can feel you completely know someone but you don't really.
I wonder what it would be like having someone who looks exactly like you. I think I would have a jealous rivalry with my twin, if
I had one. Partyline's past bands include Bratmobile (Wolfe), Hott Beat
(Melksethian), and the Applicators (Bradley).

14 Year Old Girls - 1-888-255-3700

Billy El Halfy Honey Kimmy Morizy
Here's a straight forward plug for Nintendo. This is their hotline number, ring it! I wonder if Nintendo has endorsed
14 Year Old Girls? They should be getting some compensation for providing the world with a song about Nintendo's phone number.
One of my old bands wrote a song about phone numbers we found on our phone bill. Phone number songs are generally pretty fun. This one is.
Just hearing this makes me want to get out my Gameboy and start hurting my thumbs.

Canned Hamm - Divas

Big Hamm - vox Lil Hamm - vox
It's Big Hamm (Copyright, Slow, The Orientals) and Lil Hamm (July Fourth Toilet, Terminal City)!
They re-invented themselves New Years 2004/2005 and this is from their latest album (after the re-invention)
Erotic Thriller. Canned Hamm are definitely one of those bands you either love or hate. It seems to
be that way with any sort of joke band. Hope I'm not offending them in any way but they can't take themselves
too seriously. Their shows consist of singing to a backing tape, it's almost like karaoke. Song themes include
bubble baths, karaoke, hairpieces, and being high on life.

Measles Mumps Rubella - Algorithm of Desire

Chuck Bettis - vox Other Dudes - rest of the instruments.
Formed a few years back in Washington DC, MMR has released a couple EPs and toured around the states with bands
such as Bratmobile and Trans Am. This song is from their forth coming debut album, Fantastic Success,
which should be out in February on Doubling Cube. Featuring new singer Chuck Bettis.
