Jennifer Gentle - I Do Dream You
Jennifer Gentle
Marco Fasolo - vox/guitar Alessio Gastaldello - drums

Italian men, these men may be stallions, I'm not sure. I recently have been snogging an Italian and they are quite cute! Ahem, Jennifer Gentle is a band even though they go by a girl's name. This is from their 3rd album, Valende, which is out on Sub Pop and I decided to play this song after I found it surfing good old Myspace (apparently owned by the Fox Network now? - can anyone confirm that?) and yes, I found this song on Graham Coxon's personal profile as the song he has chosen for his profile song. So the Jennifer Gentle have a famous Brit-pop star as a fan as well. Amazing!

Shitdisco - I Know Kung Fu
Shitdisco
Joel - bass/vox Joe - bass/guitar/vox Jan - bass/guitar/vox Darren - drums

So I missed them this week at White Heat cos I felt a bit shit(disco) and couldn't be bothered to go out. My ex-boyfriend saw them at Fabric and said they were bad but what does he know? Shitdisco play dancey disco-punk ala I could almost see them being featured on that Rough Trade Post-punk compilation. They're scottish and I've heard they have house gigs in Glasgow at their place so that's very fucking cool! Also 3 of 'em play bass.

The Spits - Black and Blue
The Spits
Sean - guitar Erin - bass

Seattle punk band except this song isn't thaaat punk. I like a band who can be diverse. The funniest thing I read about this band is they get their name from spitting on the crowd. Some promoter got really mad at them and wrote a review of the show and why he stopped them half way thru their set after the keyboard player spat on the ceiling of the club. Disgusting.

Bakelite - Typocritical
Bakelite
Cameron - vox/keys Sarah - drums Jim - vox/keys

Bakelite is a crunchy synth assault... it used to be just Jim and Cam with some backing drums but they've added LIVE drums to the mix with Sarah of Channels 3x4 fame pounding out the beats. People in the UK should mark June on their calendars as thee Bakelite month as they will be here on tour from June 10 - 24. Check their myspace for updated dates as it gets closer. Also Jim used to be in a wimpy pop band called Dream on Dreary so I'm happy he's doing Bakelite now and Cameron is an original Brit though I hear a lot of people question the validity of his accent. Ha!

Le Push - Gimme Gimme

The Horrors - Full Moon
The Horrors
Faris - vox Tomethy - bass Joshua - guitar Joe - drums Spider organ/vox

A zombified mess of black hair, white face paint, rock'n'roll, guitar, and organ seem to make up London's Horrors. This is a demo track of theirs. They have an extremely limited edition debut 7" single out now on Loog Records and are gigging with the likes of Blackwire and The Slits in the next 2 weeks.

The Duloks - Red Wizard Needs Food... Badly
The Duloks
Mar - drums Alice - keys Mira - vox

This is probably the most self-indulgent thing I could EVER do. To play my own band on my podcast. But what the hell, hey? I am stoked and happy to finally be playing gigs in a band in London and I wanna share it with the world! The Duloks formed in the end of January 2006, 2 weeks before my 25th birthday party, we had 3 practices and played a set of 8 songs in our livingroom to a bunch of drunk nerds. In the last 2 months we've played 3 more gigs and recorded a 5 song demo which this song is from. We also have 16 different badge (buttons in North American English) designs. We are CRAZY! Book us to play yr birthday, you won't be disappointed.
